O trabalho de um comissário(a) é o mesmo que o de uma aeromoça, pois o termo aeromoça era usado antigamente, quando só existiam mulheres na função. Atualmente, como também há homens, esse profissional é chamado de comissário(a) de bordo.
A principal função é zelar pela segurança do vôo e dos passageiros, mas também se realiza o “serviço de bordo” (servir lanchinhos).

O trabalho não tem muitas dificuldades, apenas algumas de adaptação, como ficar longe de casa e da família e com horários e vôos.

É muito bom viajar para outros lugares, mas, como se viaja a trabalho, tem-se pouco tempo para aproveitar cada lugar. Viaja-se para lugares como a Europa, EUA, Canadá, Japão, Coréia e quase todas as cidades do Brasil e etc.

Para ser comissário(a) de bordo, é necessário falar inglês fluentemente, mas, quanto mais idiomas se sabe, melhor.

Para se tornar comissário(a) é necessário fazer um curso em uma escola de aviação civil, prestar um exame no Departamento de Aviação Civil (DAC) e, após ser aprovado e ter recebido a carteira de vôo, enviar currículos para as empresas que estiverem selecionando profissionais.

É obrigatório fazer um curso de sobrevivência no curso de comissário(a). Fica-se três dias em uma ilha, sem comida, sem poder dormir e com frio. E tem que se procurar algo que se possa comer e pegar água de algumas plantas para tomar. O medo não é o maior obstáculo, e sim a fome, o cansaço e a sede.

A idade mínima para começar na profissão é de dezoito anos.

O lado bom de ser um comissário(a) de bordo é ter oportunidade de conhecer vários lugares e pessoas de diversas nacionalidades e costumes e não ter a rotina de estar sempre no mesmo local. E o lado ruim é programar a vida conforme a disponibilidade da escala de vôo, isto é, festas de fim de ano, aniversárias (o seu e o de parentes e amigos), etc.

O salário é bom, mas recebe-se de acordo com os vôos: quanto mais se voa, mais se ganha! O mínimo é de R$ 1500,00

Existem vários passageiros mal-educados! Em qualquer lugar, existem pessoas educadas e malcriadas. Apenas usa-se a educação e o profissionalismo.
